John C Williams 1929 - 2017
John C. Williams, age 87, died on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 8:47 p.m. at Vancrest of Ada.
He was born on November 17, 1929 in Allen County, Ohio to Robert and Edna (Archer) Williams, who preceded him in death. On January 31, 1981 John married Cleo E. DeLong who preceded him in death on June 11, 2016.
John worked as a Postmaster with the U.S. Postal Service.
He is survived by his step children: Larry L. Patton and his wife Karen, Nancy Ellen (Patton) Price who survives her husband Ronald, Lavada Sue (Patton) Anderson who survives her husband Ernest, Phillip A. Newland and his wife Donna, Russell E. Newland who survives his wife Carol, LaVerne L. Newland and his wife Kandy and Dana D. (Newland) Allen and her husband Jerry. John had 20 step grandchildren, 50 step great grandchildren and 19 step great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Williams and his wife Mary and his sister, Anna May Fields, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 18, at the Alger Assembly of God Church, 7050 State Route 235, Alger, Ohio 45812 with Pastor Mark Andreasen officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM-11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 18, at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alger Assembly of God Church for its Youth Program.
