Kiwanis Club presents $3,950 in scholarships
The Ada Kiwanis Club awarded seven scholarships to Ada High School graduating seniors at the 36th annual senior honor awards dinner held at the school.
The total amount presented was $3,950.00.
Ada Kiwanis Club President Tom Kier made the presentations to the following graduating seniors: Meredith Marshall, Elizabeth Milks, Kaitlyn Long, Makayla Callahan, Shaheed Hasan Khan, Kyli Lause and Madeline Skiver.
Kier noted that the club has been privileged to present club scholarships for many years and that this year marks the first year that the club has presented seven scholarships.
The club began awarding scholarships back in the mid-1960s when then Kiwanian and Ada school guidance counselor Richard Sunderman began a program of honoring National Honor Society recipients with an annual dinner and the presentaion of a scholarship to a graduating senior.
The Ada Kiwais Club was founded in 1924 and is in its 93rd year of service to the Ada commuity.
