Harold L. "Soup" Fry, 1932 - 2017
Harold L. "Soup" Fry, Sr, age 85, died on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 10:44 a.m. at his residence in Ada.
He was born on February 26, 1932 in McGuffey, Ohio to Roy "Boots" and Pearl (Hunsicker) Fry. His mother and father and step-mother, Virgie Fry all preceded him in death. On November 1, 1955 he married Joyce L. Newland and she survives in Ada.
Harold retired from Ford Motor Company of Lima. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran who served during the Korean War. He was a member of the Amvets Post #39, Moose Post #1533 and the Elks Post #2792 all of Indian Lake. Harold enjoyed wintering in Florida and time spent fishing at his Indian Lake home.
Harold is survived by two sons: Rick (Janice) Fry of Alger and Harold (Debi) Fry Jr of Monroe, MI; a daughter, Sandy Schuster of Hernando Beach, FL; a grandson, Johnny Schuster; an adopted grandson, Zachary Fry; and two step grandsons: Ronnie (Wendy Evans) Parker Jr and Rich (Keli) Parker.
He was preceded in death by five brothers: Willis Fry, Don Fry, Ray Fry, Bob Fry and his twin brother, Gerald "Fat" Fry.
A graveside service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, at Preston Cemetery, Alger with graveside military honors by the Ada VFW Post #9381 Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
