It's that season in Ada

The 8-family yard sale in the 700 block of South Johnson was doing a land office business on Saturday morning...maybe that's because the sale was advertised FREE in the Ada Icon.

Do you plan a yard/garage sale this summer? Check out the Ada Icon ad offer by scrolling down to near the bottom of this Homepage and opening "Contact Us."
Yard sales are popular in small towns: trying to find the oddball thing you want, getting a big bargain, or simply saying "Hi" to neighbors.
And, maybe you'll pick up an original Jackson Pollard abstract painting for $2 and later find out it's worth thousands of $. To see some of the unusual items at this "driveway sale" on Johnson Street, check out the pictures below.
• A budding architect, perhaps: Abe Blankenship holds one of many books and games for sale at a yard sale. Clothing and baby goods are popular garage sale items, too....as well as the unusual. Shoppers often ask: What's that? What's it used for? How old is it?
• It's a whale of a sale. Lisa Allen holds two blow-up whales, perfect for those fun times at the lake.
• Is shearing sheep in your future? If so, you'll need a sheep stand. It was for sale at a bargain price last weekend. Here, McKenzie Long demonstrates how the contraption works.
• We've heard of car jacks, but a lawnmower jack? Yes, Ada Icon columnist Lee Crouse demonstrates how to operate a lawnmower Jack in case your mower needs repair. Only $10.
