The Ohio Northern softball team put on an offensive clinic on Monday afternoon as it defeated Capital 9-1, 9-0 in a twinbill at the ONU Softball Field.
Northern stretches its winning streak to six games and improves to 17-3 overall and 3-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while Capital drops to 6-14, 2-2.
Kirsten Lightel (Tallmadge) and Jenna Hollar (Lima/Bath) swept the Ohio Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week honors for their efforts last week during ONU's perfect 4-0 week.
The Polar Bears (15-3 overall) swept Hanover (Ind.) before sweeping Wooster to move to 4-0 last week.
Lightel had another spectacular week, winning her seventh and eighth games in the pitchers circle. Her eight wins are tied for the best mark in the OAC, while her 66 K's are also tied for first in the OAC.
Easter in Ada 2018 when carolers were singing the Bing Crosby hit, “I’m Dreaming of a White Easter.” The ground, and in this case windshield, were covered with snow before the day ended. By strange coincidence, Easter and April Fools Day fell on the same day, but the fluffy white stuff was no joke. It should be reported, however, that the weather was dry for church-goers for the Sunday morning services, including the Easter sunrise services, breakfasts, Sunday Schools, and worship services.

Sometimes a photographer has to be patient to get shots he wants.
Monday morning, almost two weeks into Spring, was the best chance for snow pictures since last fall.
- Bring on the snow photos - lots more at the bottom of this story -
Sure, Ada saw snow throughout the Winter, but not one that clings to trees and shrubs, set off by sunshine.
Patience pays off in getting just the right smile from a child, or a flock of birds landing in just the right place, or a basketball player making a fantastic layup.
