Trip includes a Rhine River cruise

The Ohio Northern women's soccer team is set to depart for Europe on Friday, July 21, where it will compete in four countries during an 11-day preseason trip.

Northern will take on two teams in the first six days, before entering a 7-game tournament on the final day.

After arriving in Zurich, Switzerland, Northern will travel to Salzburg, Austria where the team will tour the city and visit the birthplace of Mozart.

Northern will cap the day off with its first contest as it takes on FC Bergheim at 3:30 pm.

The fourth day of the trip will feature a tour of Munich, Germany and a tour of Allianz Stadium, home of 1860 Munich and Bayern Munich Fussball Clubs.

On the the fifth day of the trip, Northern will tour Rothenburg ob-der-Tauber.

The second contest of the trip will take place on the sixth day of the trip, where Northern will take on FC Speyer 09 at 6:30 pm.

Over the next two days, the trip will feature a cruise along Rhine River, Apline Day in the marlstone Valkenburg Caves, and a tour of the American World War II cemetery in Margraten.

On the ninth day of the trip, Northern will begin its tournament where it will take on VV Amastenrade, FSC Monchengladbach, Standard Liege and FC Eindhoven in five tournament games.

Northern will end the ninth day of the trip as it attends a professional contest with teams, venue and times to be determined at a later time.

The final day of the trip will take place in Amstenrade, where the Polar Bears will compete in the semifinal contest of the tournament before finishing the tournament in the final game at 3 pm.
