Ada linksters open season

COLUMBUS GROVE - Crestview won a three-team golf match of Northwest Conference foes to tee off the 2017 season Monday.
The Knights finished first wth 188 strokes, followed by Columbus Grove (206) and Ada (262).
Ada was led by freshman Brevin Sizemore, who shot a nine-hole score of 62. Juniors Austin Amburgey and Rob Allison each carded a total of 66. Junior Jake Colwell contributed a score of 68.
"It's always tough to start the season with an away league match, but it was a good way to see where we stand as a team," said Ada head coach Jason Campbell. "All of the returners improved greatly on their scores compared to last season's first match. The rookies played right where they have been during practice."
"As a team we have made some big steps, and I'm looking forward to watching these guys play and improve this season," he added.
Ada (0-2) plays at county rival Ridgemont Wednesday at the Ketnon Golf Course at 4:30 p.m. The Bulldogs visit Arlington Monday, August 14 at 4:30 p.m.
