Ada Public Library at 100
By Monty Siekerman
It's the Ada Public Library centennial, so does that mean you should read a hundred books in celebration?
Nope, the library has a plan for patrons to read one book from each of the last decades. Those who accomplish the feat are eligible for a $25 Amazon gift card drawing.
Here's how it works.
The library staff has chosen several classics from each decade between the 1910s and now. There are books selected for all age groups: juvenile, young adult, and adult. Complete a Read Through the Decades form, available at the front desk, listing the books you've read and their authors. Complete the reading by the end of August.
The books have been pulled from the shelves and are conveniently available on carts by the front desk. The library staff has done much of the work, now it's up to patrons to start reading.
