INDIAN LAKE - The Ada girls soccer team beat Indian Lake 4-2 in their season opener Saturday to highlight the debut of new head coach Doug Poling.
The Lady Bulldogs start out the season 1-0 after Bella East scored three goals to pace the offense.
Katie Butterfield tallied the other Ada goal.
East, Butterfield and Ella Poling each passed out one assist. Senior Anney Archer made 12 saves in her first game in goal.
Ada fell behind 1-0 but was able to tie it up before halftime. They then outscored the Lakers 3-1 after the intermission.
"In the second half we were able to control the ball on their half of the field and went ahead," said Poling, who admitted it felt good to get that first win.
"We have some things to work on but I'm pleased with the things we're doing and improvements that have happened since we started practice," he continued.
"I think we're moving in the direction I'd like to see the team go."
Ada hosts county rival Kenton August 23 at 5 p.m. in the Bulldog home opener.
