Ada boys run well at Van Wert
By Cort Reynolds
VAN WERT - The Ada cross country teams ran in the unseasonable heat of the Van Wert Invitational Saturday morning, but the abnormally high temperatures did not hinder the short-handed boys squad.
Reece Evans finished the 3.1-mile course in 20:28 to pace the Bulldog boys. Michael Crouse posted a time of 20:37 and Ian
Dellifield crossed the finish line in 26:28.
"As for the Ada girls heat played a major factor, resulting in some of their slowest times of the season," said Bulldog coach Josh Klein.
However, Abbie James posted her second-best time of the season with a 23:23. Courtney "Coco" McLauglin ran a 26:01, followed by Alexis Ennis in 26:57, both very close to their times from last Saturday's meet at Galion.
Finishing the Lady Bulldog pack was Paige Cole with 31:33, Nora
Dellifield in 32:25, and Dani Waugh at 33:25.
"The Bulldog runners, myself included, are hoping for cooler weather during our meet at Bath on Tuesday," noted Klein.
"I expect to have much better times from all of our runners, and am also excited to once again have full teams (after) a conflict with the band show in Revere this weekend."
Ada runs next on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. in the Bath Invitationa
