Amelia, Ada's little sweetheart, attended the Ada/Spencerville volleyball game on Tuesday to support Volley for the Cure. Over $1,500 was raised for Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, and it was learned that Amelia's cancer remains in remission.

Amelia had the best seat in the house, on the bench next to Melissa Gossard, Ada's successful varsity volleyball coach who is now in her 17th year of coaching in Ada.
Amelia, now 7, is the daughter of Beau and Christina Griffin, who are also parents of two sons: Jude and Willie. The little girl is now a first grader.
She has fought an aggressive kind of cancer for several years. Her cancer was in stage 4 when diagnosed.
She has been treated at Nationwide, and the doctors there continue to keep a close watch on her health. It was announced in May that the cancer was in remission. The Ada community was jubilant at the good news.
Many organizations and individuals have had fund raisers for her and cancer cures over the past several years. The community has come together in a supportive way.
The funds raised Tuesday included donations from spectators, t-shirt sales, and a bake sale. In addition, coloring books were collected for Nationwide patients.
