ADA – Costly turnovers and penalties plagued Ada in the second half of their Div. VII, Region 26 first round playoff rematch vs. league rival Leipsic on a chilly Friday night at War Memorial Stadium.

Pamela Sue Craft, age 77, of Ada, passed away at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima on Thursday, October 31, 2024, surrounded by her family. 

She was born on August 12, 1947 in Lima, Ohio to the late Walter and Marie (Taylor) Hites.  On January 2, 1971 Pam married Michael Craft and he survives in Ada.

The Ada Exempted Village Schools have issued the following Honor Roll and Dean's List recognition for students in grades 4-12 for the first quarter of the 2024-2025 school year.

Betty L. Shepherd, age 74, of Alger, passed away on October 30, 2024 at Lima Memorial Health System.

She was born on December 22, 1949 in Warsaw, Indiana to the late Granville and Louise (Shepherd) Patrick.  On April 29, 1964 Betty married Steve Shepherd and he survives in Alger. 

Also surviving are two sons: Jimmy Shepherd and Timmy Shepherd both of Alger; three daughters: Wanda (Glenn) Rader of Dunkirk, Carol (Tom) Cochrane of Ada and Vickie (Ulf) Norman of McGuffey; fourteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren; and a sister, Jackie (Clyde) Hurt of Prestonsburg, KY. 

Diana Sue Manley, age 71, of Ada, passed away peacefully in her sleep, with her dogs by her side on Monday, October 28, 2024 at her residence. 

She was born on August 11, 1953 in Lima, Ohio to the late Harley A. and Elouise (Helser) Manley. 

Diana is survived by her three children: Amy (Robert) Tucker, Angie (Scott) Barry, and Adam (fiancé, Allie Baker) Manley; four grandchildren: Brandi (Michael) Contini, Lauryn (Noah) Tenney, Scarlet Manley and Grace Manley; a brother, Dennis Manley; and two sisters: Nancy Tarr and Jean A. Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard “Dick” Manley.
