Interested in Ada and ONU history?
Jimmy Wilson's Ohio Northern University Historical Geography class assignment was: Create a short film about a part of local history, either on campus or in the community.
The resulting films focused on four areas (click on each bold face topic to access those videos):
• ONU sport history videos - 5 video - These videos all detail histories of ONU athletic programs and teams, from the emergence of women’s sports to the new soccer stadium.
• Agriculture, geography, and farming videos - 7 videos - The history of Hardin County is very much an agricultural history, and the geography of the area played a huge part in how and why the area was settled and the kind of people who moved into the area. These videos cover everything from the onion farming of the area to the geography that made farming possible here.
• Campus and community videos - 12 videos - Ada and Ohio Northern have a close, symbiotic relationship and many events are for the locals and for the college students alike. These videos cover topics such as Ohio Northern University’s buildings and history, Ada history, and the Blizzard of 1978.
• Highway and motor videos - 6 videos -The history of Ada and Ohio Northern University is the history of the Ada railroad depot and the Lincoln Highway. Bringing people in from all over the country, the Lincoln Highway, cars, and the railroad are all covered here.
