L-B ends Ada streak
By Cort Reynolds
FINDLAY - Visiting Ada scored first but lost 8-1 in a non-league girls
soccer match Wednesday evening at Liberty-Benton.
The defeat snapped a three-match Lady Bulldog win streak, dropping their
record to 5-10.
Katie Butterfield scored the Ada goal early on to put the Bulldogs ahead
1-0. But the Eagles responded with five first half goals to grab a 5-1
halftime lead.
L-B added three more scores after intermission to provide the final margin.
Ada keeper McKenzie Long stopped 37 shots in goal. L-B out-shot Ada, 48-20.
"We scored first very early in the game but were unable to compete with a
very solid Liberty-Benton team," said Ada head coach Doug Poling.
The Bulldogs play at Ashland Crestview Saturday in sectional first round
action.
