Robert Cole was an Ada native and retired insurance agent
Robert Cole, 85, died on Nov. 23, 2017,at the Pines nursing facility at Carolina Meadows in Chapel Hill, N.C.
He was born May 6, 1932, in Ada, to Robert and Eunice Cole, who proceeded him in death. He married Carolyn Rayl Cole in 1951, and she also proceeded him in death.
Formally of Ada, Robert was the owner of Cole Humphrey Insurance Agency for close to 50 years and was an active member of the Ada Rotary club. He was a graduate of Ada High School and Ohio Northern University.
Surviving are four children: Michael (Nancy) Cole of Dartmouth, N.H.; Charles (Robin) Cole of Simpsonville, S.C.; Christina (Stewart) Graham of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and Melanie (David) Vandermast of Chapel Hill, N.C.
Also surviving are three siblings: brothers Steve (Peg) Cole and William (Lynn) Cole, both of Ada, and sister, Carol Martin of Marco Island, Fla. He had 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada. A private burial will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service, from noon to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association.
