The monthly "Ohio Magazine" published an article in the current issue (January 2018) about the Made in Ada Wilson Football Festival. The 2/3 page story, with a photo of Wynn Hauenstein's 10-foot-long, lighted football, is found on page 6.

The article quotes Mayor Dave Retterer and a festival organizer Amy Hilan (she and her husband Mark own the Easter House B&B). The story is titled, "Super Bowl Fun Day" and subtitled "The city of Ada, home of the Wilson football factory that makes footballs for every NFL game including the biggest matchup of the season, celebrates its pigskin heritage."

To read the article, the current issue of the magazine can be found at the Ada Public Library and at the kiosk between the front doors of The Inn.

Perhaps article author Vince Guerrierti's piece will bring more celebrants to this year's Festival, set for Super Bowl Eve, Feb. 3, at the Railroad Depot.  Guerrierti is based in Elyria and has won several awards from the Associated Press Society of Ohio.

Ohio Magazine, which features an outstanding photo of Franklin Park Conservatory on the cover of this issue, has 52,000 subscribers and claims 358,000 readers. Perhaps the slick publication will add to its readership in Ada this month.

Guerrierti's story mentions the many activities held at last year's inaugural festival, including the football drop at midnight, games, a free movie, and panel discussion.

This year's committee has been meeting the past few months to plan the 2018 activities. More details will be announced in the Ada Icon in the future.

In the meantime, root for your favorite pro team and take pride every time the camera catches a glimpse of the made-in-Ada Wilson football.
