Ernestine M. Hawley, age 91, died on Friday, December 01, 2017 at 11:45 a.m. at Vancrest of Ada.

          She was born on June 17, 1926 in Ada, Ohio to the late Charles “Jim” and Mildred (Goddard) Walls.  On May 28, 1944 Ernestine married B.G. Hawley and he preceded her in death on August 8, 2006.

Ernestine graduated from Ada High School in 1944 and The Lima School of Practical Nursing in 1962.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ada. She was a stay at home mom and housewife persuing many hobbies, but mainly quilting, sewing, crocheting and knitting.  She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

          She is survived by her children: William (Myra) Hawley of Ada and Jayne Griffin of Ada; four grandchildren: Rachael Hawley, Jim Griffin, Beau (Christina) Griffin and Nikki (Buzz) Neiswander; and eight great grandchildren.

          She was preceded in death by a great grandson, a sister, Theo Phillians and a son-in-law, Ron Griffin.

          Private family graveside services were held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.

          In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
