Kalida stymies Ada boys
By Cort Reynolds
KALIDA - Host Kalida smothered the Ada boys basketball team 64-18 Friday night in a non-league contest.
The Bulldogs fell to 1-1 with the defeat, while Kalida improved to 2-0 with the lopsided win.
Freshman guard Zac Swaney led Ada with nine points.
Trevor Lambert, a 6-3 Kalida junior forward, made all 10 of his field goal attempts en route to a game-high 23 points. Wildcat junior guard Connor Krouse added 10 markers.
"Hopefully this was an eye-opener to the guys of where we are," said Ada second-year head coach Dre White. "We need to get better and grow up in many areas. We currently lack mental and physical toughness."
The Bulldog junior varsity lost 34-28 to also drop to 1-1.
Ada (0-1 road) visits Ottoville (3-0) Saturday night, Dec. 9. The Big Green have whipped Temple Christian, Cory-Rawson and Columbus Grove, all at home, by an average of 25.3 points a game.
