One more look at 2017 - part 1
Here's a selection of 2017 Ada Icon photos taken by Monty Siekerman, Ada Icon editor/writer/photographer. He chose one photo for each month because of its news worthiness or because he just liked the picture. January-June are shown today. Pictures from the last have of the year will be posted tomorrow.
• January - Children play basketball in their yard wearing short sleeves. Winter wasn't bad.
• February - The inaugural Made in Ada Wilson Football Festival drew a large crowd on Super Bowl Eve. There was a lot of media coverage before and after the event. Stayed tuned for this year's football drop on Feb. 3.
• March - The ONU women's basketball season was record breaking in many ways. Here, Ada grad Tori Wyss cuts down the net. Being an AHS Bulldog and ONU Polar Bear made her a Bullbear.
• April - Emergency responders put on a mock accident at the Ada Schools prior to prom All manner of police, fire, and rescues personnel and equipment were on hand, including Life Flight flying in from Bluffton.
• May - A meth house explodes on North Main. Just in the last week has work begun to make repairs. Drugs have been a big concern locally and throughout the nation in 2017.
• June - Swim meets.
