What's the temperature in Ada?
By Monty Siekerman
Just checking Ada weather about 11 p.m. last night and found I'd rather live here than in Ada, Minn.
Our temp was 28 degrees while Ada, Minn., folks were reeling with a temp of 13 degrees and facing a winter storm warning.
Adak (they spell it wrong) Alaska, was warmer than here, 35 compared to 28.
And, there is an Adah, Pa., but they spell it wrong, too
There is also an Ada in Kansas, Michigan, Oklahoma, South Dakota, and West Virginia.
Ada, Ohio, was named after the postmaster's daughter, some say. Others say it was his niece. We used to be called Johnstown, but there were two Johnstown in Ohio, so someone had to change.
Here's the population of Ada, Adah, and Adak:
Ada, Okla., 16,810
Ada, Mich., 13,142
Ada, Ohio, 5,607
Adah, Pa., 868
Ada, S.D., 557
Adak, Alaska, 333
Ada, Kan., 100
Ada, W. Va., so small it was not included in the 2010 census
