October 8, 1896 the Ada Telephone Exchange was opened with 28 residence and 34 commercial phones. The first calls on the Record’s phone was placed by the Ada Savings Bank, quickly followed by Wagner’s bookstore.
June 1, 1897 Ada Camp, Independent Order of Foresters was instituted, survived less than two years
