Wilkie Wright, 1925 - 2018
Wilkie Wright, age 92, died on Thursday, February 08, 2018 at 6:50 a.m. at the Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy.
He was born on December 26, 1925 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky to Birl and Clora (Hall) Wright who preceded him in death. On July 22, 1951 Wilkie married Susie Hicks and she survives in Piqua.
Wilkie retired in 1981 after working for 37 years at Sheller Globe, Superior Coach Division of Lima. He later worked for the Hardin County Highway Dept retiring in 2001. Wilkie attended the Alger United Baptist Church.
Wilkie is survived by his three children: Steven (Judy) Wright of Covington, Kevin (Missie) Wright of Urbana and Kimberly Klopfenstein of Ada; Eight grandchildren: Steven Tyler Wright, Travis Wright, Jordan Wright, Brittany Zuver, Eric Lensman, Chad Lensman, Jennifer Bell and Jessica Bishop; and thirteen great and great-great grandchildren; a brother, Arnold (Betty) Wright of Lima; and a sister, Carmie Peavler.
He was preceded in death by four brothers: Hobert Wright, Okie Wright, Cecil Wright and Harold Wright; and two sisters: Emogene Fletcher and Ocie Spradlin.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 12, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger with Elder Curt Smith and Elder Freddie Preston officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 11, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday.
In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Koester Pavillion Memory Care Unit, 3232 North County Road 25 A, Piqua, Ohio 45373.
