2 die in crash Sunday night
Two Indiana residents died in a head-on crash at 9:44 p.m. on Sunday on SR 117 south of Holden. The unincorporated village of Holden is located between Alger and Roundhead, west of SR 235.
A southbound car crashed head-on with a pickup truck. The occupants of the car, Marcus Daniel Cory, 33, Ft. Wayne, and Michelle Hakey, 29, Columbia City, were pronounced dead at the scene
Occupants of the pickup truck were taken by medical helicopter to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Toledo with serious injuries. They include the driver Sonia Kropaczewski-McNamara, 39, and two children, ages 5 and 9 months of Grand Junction, Michigan.
Assisting the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office at the scene were units from Roundhead Fire and EMS, Alger EMS, Belle Center Fire and EMS along with Life Flight and Care Flight medical helicopters; the Multi County Crash Investigation Team, Hardin County Volunteers In Police Service, Hardin County Dog Warden, Hardin County Coroner and Osborn’s Towing and Recovery.
