E. Douglas Reed, 1952 - 2018
E. Douglas Reed, age 65, was called home on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 8:08 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health System.
Doug was born on November 3, 1952 in to the late Elvin D. and Betty (Rhodent) Reed. On January 7, 1978 Doug married Patricia A. Lusk, they were married for 40 years and she survives in Waynesfield. He was previously married to Lorraine Jenkins.
Doug was a chemical operator for BP of Lima. He was a member of the Waynesfield Baptist Church. Doug was a jack of all trades and master of none, but often times better than a master of one. He was known as “Poppy” to anyone who needed one.
Also surviving are three sons: Mike (Kristine) Reed of Mason, Marc Reed of Waynesfield, Adam Reed of Harrod; a daughter, Katie Reed of Waynesfield; two grandchildren: Andrew and Lauren; two brothers: Gary Reed of Ada and Kirk (Karen) Reed of Kenton; and two sisters: Nedra (Brad) Schafer of Bluffton and Jayna Petty of Bellefontaine.
He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Reed; a grandson, Gavin Reed; and three brothers: Gale, Dean and Kenny Reed.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 22, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada with Pastor Don Smith officiating. It was his wish to be cremated following services.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, at Hanson-Neely Home, Ada and until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, P.O. Box 38, Ada, Ohio 45810 for the benevolence of the family.
