Historical Society membership meeting set for May 7
The first annual dinner and membership drive of the Ada Historical Society will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 7 at Viva Maria Pizza and Pasta Restaurant, 124 E. Buckeye. Those who attend and pay for a membership that evening will be charter members of the organization.
Several community members have been meeting monthly since last fall to organize the Society. Officers and bylaws are in place and incorporation papers have been approved by the state. A number of projects for Society members to undertake have been discussed. Kathleen Anspach has developed website which can be found at AdaOhioHS.com.
Officers are Rhett Grant, president; Kathleen Anspach, vice president; Jon Umphress, secretary; treasurer to be chosen; and board members Lee Crouse, Paul Logsdon, and Ruth Roider.
Membership is open to anyone. Dues are $10 for an individual, $15 for a family, $25 for a business and $300 for a lifetime membership.

The next monthly meeting of the organizing group will be at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 16 at the Ada Public Library. Anyone interested in helping organize the Historical Society or want to become involved with projects is welcome to attend.
