CONVOY - The visiting Ada baseball team lost 12-0 at league-leading Crestview Thursday evening in a shortened Northwest Conference contest.
The Bulldogs fell to 3-5 overall and 0-4 in the NWC wth the five-inning, run-rule defeat. Crestview improved to 6-2 overall and 4-0 in the NWC with the shutout victory.
The Knights took control early with a five-run first inning and were never headed. They tacked on four more scores in the third, and three runs in the fourth to put the game out of reach.
Crestview out-hit Ada 12-2 and played error-less defense. Senior Aaron Everhart and junior Austin Amburgey each singled to provide the Bulldog hits. Everhart added a stolen base as well.
Riley Saylor and Charles Stefanek each collected two hits, scored twice and knocked in a pair of runs to lead the Knight offense.
Amburgey pitched two solid innings of relief, allowing no earned runs while striking out one.
Knight junior Brant Richardson hurled four innings of one-hit baseball with six strikeouts to earn the win.
Six of the Crestview runs were unearned as Ada made four errors.
