Michael Rush "distinguished Under 40" recipient
The Ohio Pharmacists Association (OPA) announced that Michael Rush, R.Ph., PharmD of Ada was honored as a distinguished UNDER 40 award recipient for professional achievements and vision in the practice of pharmacy at its 140th Annual Conference held April 20-22 in Columbus.
Rush's vision for Ohio Northern University's HeathWise program has created educational outreach services to support the health and wellness of the community.
He has created a pharmacy residency program, and fosters the development of future pharmacists through teaching, mentoring, and directing. He is an active member of the Ada community and has helped raise money for families who are dealing with financial burdens associated with childhood cancer.
Rush earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Ohio Northern University. He is
the director at ONU’s HealthWise, and assisted in establishing a rural mobile health clinic servicing Hardin County.
He serves on OPA's faculty for Medication Therapy Management (MTM) pharmacist training programs and on the OPA MTM Committee.
OPA, established in 1879, represents more than 4,000 pharmacists, pharmacy
educators, and pharmacy students throughout the state. It is OPA’s mission
to unite the profession of pharmacy and encourage interprofessional
relations, while promoting public health through education, discussion, and
legislation.
