Diane Thede, 1948 - 2018
Diane K. Thede, age 69, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at 12:57 p.m. at her residence in Ada.
She was born on July 19, 1948 in Iowa City, Iowa to Wayne and Frances (Dallege) Ahrens. Her father is deceased and her mother survives in Tipton, IA. On September 1, 1967, Diane married Leslie D. Thede and he survives in Ada.
Diane retired after 26 years as an administrative assistant at Ohio Northern University. She was a member of the ONU Women’s Book Club and Bridge Club.
She is also survived by her children: Scott (Denise) Thede of Greencastle, IN and Amber (Rodney) Purcell of Indianapolis, IN; four grandchildren: Michael, Rainah, Makennah, and Andrew; two brothers: Jerry (Margaret) Ahrens of California and James (Teresa) Ahrens of Tipton, IA; and a sister: Sandra (Bob) Slade of Florida.
A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 8, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada with Pastor Brandi Rigsby officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, May 7, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Ada 1st United Methodist Church and/or the Roger Young Endowed Professorship at Ohio Northern University.
