LIMA - The visiting Ada Alligator summer swim team defeated WOAL foe Sherwood in a close meet on a warm Monday evening.

Ada won the combined meet team score, 186-154.

The Alligator combined dual meet record improved to 2-2 after the tight win.

Ada girls beat the competition

ADA - The Ada swim team lost an extremely close meet to visiting West Ohio Aquatic League rival Wapakoneta in a makeup meet on a hot Wednesday evening.

Wapak edged Ada 359-356 in the combined meet score. Ada won the girls meet 189-184, while the Waves nipped the Alligator boys 175-167.

The Gators (2-3) host county foe Kenton Thursday at 6 p.m. in their regular season dual meet finale.

Paige Jochims masters the art of blowing bubbles. The bubble experience was part of Thursday's space camp in the public library's summer reading program. Check out additional bubble-blowers in the next photos in this series.

Liberty Belles and Boys 4-H is supporting the Ada Food Pantry by running Food Drive Saturday, June 29, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. in the Hays Insurace Parking Lot (on Main Street).

Some items currently needed are: canned fruit, paper towels, and jars of peanut butter and jelly.

Proceeds go to Boots for Bulldogs

County Line Church of the Brethren is hosting a Freedom Fest on Saturday, July 13, from noon to 6 p.m., including a chicken BBQ and free music. Bring your own seating for this free outdoor gospel concert, geared towards the whole family, including a free bouncy house to keep children entertained. The concert will be behind the church, located at 4227 N Hardin Road, Harrod.
