Last week the Ada Rotary Club met for breakfast rather than lunch to host Dr. Karen Warkentin of Boston University.
Dr. Warkentin delivered the 2022 Terry Keiser Distinguished Lectureship in the Life Sciences at Ohio Northern University on Oct. 25 and spent time with students, faculty and others in Ada during the rest of the week.
The club has hosted the Keiser lecturer and friends of Rotary at a breakfast each year thanks to the generosity of the ONU biology department and the Keiser Lectureship.
Planning to attend the Ada Schools music boosters monthly meeting?
It is usually held on the first Tuesday of every month. This month it will be held on the first Wednesday, November 2nd, at 6:30 p.m. in the vocal music room.
The Ada Schools academic boosters will also meet at 7:00 p.m. in the media center (library).
Throughout the month of November, the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) is conducting an online survey to identify traffic safety concerns and obtain feedback about interactions with the agency.
The 2022 Public Survey is anonymous and takes approximately five minutes to complete. The survey is designed to be used as a platform for organizational learning, asking specific questions related to traffic safety issues and previous interactions with OSHP employees. The survey is created in accordance with standards of the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).
At the November 1 Ada Council Meeting, discussion about proposed safety improvements for the Main and Buckeye intersection was set to continue in January. One-way traffic on Buckeye for one block east and west of Main, as well as adding angle parking, is being considered.
