Robert "Bob" Ward, 1922 - 2018
Robert L. “Bob” Ward, age 96, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at Mercy St. Vincent Hospital, Toledo.
He was born on January 5, 1922 in Lima to the late Clifford and Daisy (Kiser) Ward. On March 31, 1944, Bob married Gladys M. Newland and she survives in Harrod.
Bob retired from Clark Equipment after 40 years. He was a charter member of the Auglaize Bible Church. His favorite hymn was Victory in Jesus. Bob was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during WWII in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters.
He is also survived by his daughter: Deb (Dennis) Barnes of Lima; a son-in-law: Bruce Clum of Ada; three grandchildren: Brett (Katie) Barnes, Traci (Scott) Clapper, and Jeremy (Casey) Clum; seven great grandchildren; and three special nephews: Larry (Deb) Ward, Tom (Donna) Ward, and David (Sue) Ward.
Bob was preceded in death by two daughters: Rhea Ward and Peggy Clum; and three brothers and two sisters.
A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, at Auglaize Bible Church with Pastor Ben Buzhardt and Pastor Christian Wright officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger with graveside military rites by the Ada VFW Post #9381.
Friends may call from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 4, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Auglaize Bible Church, Harrod and/or the charity of the donor’s choice.
