Dorothy J Nichols, 1937 - 2018
Dorothy J. Nichols, age 80, died on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 10:05 a.m. at Lost Creek Care Center, Lima.
She was born on December 17, 1937 in Allen County, Ohio to the late Delbert and Opal (Shanks) Mayer. On April 9, 1957 Dorothy married Eddie Nichols and he survives in Harrod.
Dorothy was a homemaker and gardener. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Also surviving are her three children: Rebecca (Fred Smith) Castle of Foraker, Diana (Reginald) Paule of Harrod and Eddie (Sandy) Nichols Jr. of Lakeview; five grandchildren: Jason (Chasity) Castle, Scott Stahler, Rebecca Delong, Randy Sickles and Kyle Nichols; a great grandchild, Jayvin Castle; three brothers: Delbert (Carolyn) Mayer, Donald Mayer, and Jerry (Natalie) Mayer all of Lima; and three sisters: Waneta Caudill of Harrod, Betty Plaugher of Harrod and Darlene Miller of LaFayette.
She was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Nikencie Castle; two brothers: Billy Mayer and John Mayer; and three sisters: Virginia Pennock, Helen Hendrickson and Mary Klett.
A graveside service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 2, at Preston Cemetery, Alger with Pastor Arnold Wright officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
