Wapak Waves nip Ada Gator boy swimmers

WAPAKONETA - The Ada Alligator swim team lost a boys and girls dual meet at West Ohio Aquatic League foe Wapakoneta on a very warm Monday evening back on June 18.
The Gator boys were edged by an extremely close 316-314 score. Meanwhile, the Ada girls were defeated by Wapak, 416-182. The host Waves thus won the combined meet team score, 762-496.
The Ada boys and girls squads each fell to 1-2 in dual meets with the losses.
Quite a few Gator swimmers won multiple races. Tea Griffith led the way for the Ada girls with five firsts in the 7-8 age division.
Max Baumgartner also finished first in five individidual races to pace the Alligator boys in the 7-8 bracket.
Carlie Oldfield (13-14) and J.J. Spyker (9-10) won four races apiece, as did Lily Baumgartner (11-12).
Tommy Spyker (13-14) captured first in three races, while McKenna Huber (9-10) won two events.
Winning one race each for the Gators were Zach Beaschler (15-18), Joey Spyker (11-12), T.J. Griffith (9-10) and Ethan Da
niels (15-18).
The Ada boys 13-14 200 freestyle relay quartet won their race, as did the Gator boys 9-10 200 medley relay foursome.
The Alligator swimmers host Westside on Wednesday, June 27 in the Ada pool at 6 p.m. for a makeup meet.
Ada then is slated to entertain Sherwood Thursday, June 28 at 6 p.m.
