Barbara Miller was retired from Ford Motor
Barbara F. Miller, age 78, died on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 4:58 AM at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.
She was born on December 30, 1939 in Tip Top, Kentucky, to the late Sam and June (Push) Miller.
Barb was a 1957 graduate of Alger High School.
After 25 years, Barb retired in 1999 from Ford Motor Company where she worked as an Assembler. She was a member of the Alger First United Methodist Church and the Alger First United Methodist Women.
Barb volunteered for the Alger First Commodity Distribution; she was a Friend of the Alger Public Library and a member of the Scrapping Chicks.
She also liked to crochet, garage sale and attend auctions.
She was her granddaughters' biggest fan and was a grandmother to many girls, especially to those in Girl Scout Troop 20301.
She is survived by her daughter, Melissa (Roger) Moore of Alger and granddaughters, Katherine Grace Moore and Allison Jo Moore, both at home.
Also surviving are 2 sisters, Donna Guyton of Alger, with whom she was extremely close and Melovete Pummell of Alger.
She was preceded in death by 1 sister: Beatrice Rowe and 5 brothers: Billy Joe Minix, Kelly Minix, Jr., Bert Minix, Homer Minix and James Minix.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Alger First United Methodist Church, 101 East Montville Street, Alger with Pastor Don Clinger officiating.
Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call on Monday, July 30, 2018 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alger First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box C, Alger, Ohio.
