Ivory Shepherd, 1938 - 2018
Ivory Shepherd, age 80, died on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 12:56 a.m. at Shawnee Manor, Lima.
He was born on April 21, 1938 in Langley, Kentucky to the late George and Lucie (Moore) Shepherd. On the October 30, 1959 Ivory married his former wife, Joyce Elaine Shepherd who survives in Waynesfield.
Ivory was permanently disabled from a stroke in 1963, but never let his disability get in the way of raising his three boys and being there for his family and friends.
He is survived by three sons: Jeffrey L. Shepherd of Covington, KY, Kerry L. Shepherd of Waynesfield and Terry C. (Jolene) Shepherd of Waynesfield ; a sister, Barbara Kay (Paul) Bender of Lima; seven grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Eugene, George Jr. and Gordon Shepherd.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 17, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger with Pastor Don Smith officiating. Burial will be in McDonald-Fairview Cemetery, Kenton.
Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 16, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
