LaVerne Neal, 1936 - 2018
LaVerne Neal, age 82, died on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 11:25 p.m. at Logan Acres Care Center, Bellefontaine.
She was born on February 25, 1936 in Alger, Ohio to the late Jay and Esther (Tidd) Zeigler. LaVerne married Richard “Dick” Parker and she later married Harry Neal, whom both preceded her in death.
LaVerne retired from Mary Rutan Hospital where she worked as a Registered OB Nurse and was a Lamaze instructor. She was a former member of the First Christian Church of Bellefontaine and a member of the St. John’s Evangelical Church, Kenton. She served as a 4-H advisor for many years.
She is survived by four sons: Jeff (Heidi) Parker of Lakeview, Jerry (Marci) Parker of Reynoldsburg, Duane (Julie) Parker of Roundhead and Rick (Katie) Parker of Alger; a daughter, Vicky (Scott) King of Bellefontaine; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a brother, Delmar (Linda) Zeigler of Alger.
She was preceded in death by an infant brother.
Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 23, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger with Rev. Dr. Randall Forrester officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 23, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
