A lot of work and effort went into planning the Ada VFW car show on Main Street in downtown Ada on Saturday, but the weatherman had his say, too.
Even though the forecast called for rain during most of the show, the planners proceeded to set up for the event, anyway. And, it’s a good thing because the forecast was mostly wrong.
More than 60 cars, trucks, and motorcycles were on hand, which is fewer than anticipated, but more than a show usually gets on a rainy day. A brief shower at 4 p.m. did not matter much because most of the owners of the collector cars waited it out.
The VFW car show was held in conjunction with the Ada Chamber of Commerce-promoted sidewalk sales. The show organizers and merchants did the best they could with the elements.
Plans will soon be made for the 2019 show/sale, but first a talk with the weatherman is needed.
