Ada girl kickers blank MH

MARION - The Ada girls soccer team beat Marion Harding 2-0 in a rain-shortened road battle Saturday morning.
The Lady Bulldogs improved to 2-1 with the victory.
Junior Katie Butterfield put Ada on top early when she re-directed a crossing pass from classmate Ella Poling into the back of the net.
Ada stretched their lead to 2-0 late in the first half when a through ball from freshman Hailey Robirds assisted Butterfield on her second score.
"We kept the ball on our offensive end most of the game," said Bulldog head coach Doug Poling. "Harding was able to make a few runs, but was unable to get many shots on frame."
The game was halted midway through the second half due to inclement weather.
Ada put 21 shots on goal compared to just one by MH.
Bulldog keeper McKenzie Long only had to make one save in goal.
Ada (1-0 home) hosts league foe Spencerville Monday, August 27 at 5 p.m. in the Northwest Conference opener.
