Bearcat linksters win opening NWC quad match

DELPHOS - League-favorite Spencerville won a four-team golf match of Northwest Conference foes Wednesday to tee off the season at Delphos.
The dominating Bearcats finished first with 168 strokes, followed by host Delphos Jefferson (191), Crestview (220) and Ada (231).
Ada was led by junior Alex Morgan, who shot a nine-hole score of 51. Sophomore teammate Brevin Sizemore carded a 54.
Bulldog junior Ethan Hull posted a 61 while senior Jake Colwell shot 65.
Senior Rob Allison registered a total of 66 and classmate Austin Amburgey added a 69.
Bearcat twins Ethan and Gavin Harmon tied for match medalist honors with matching nine-hole scores of 39.
Ada (0-3) co-hosts another NWC quad match at Bluffton with Crestview and Columbus Grove Thursday, August 9 at 4:15 p.m.
