6 p.m. at Ada First United Methodist Church

The Sew What 4-H Club and the Hardin County Homemakers invite Icon viewers to the Hardin County  4-H  Fashion Revue taking place this weekend in Ada.

It is from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 19, at the Ada First United Methodist Church. Hardin County 4-H members will model their clothing and textile construction and consumer projects.

The event is free and open to the public. Free will donations will be accepted by the Sew What 4-H Club to assist with community service projects.

Ada High School cheerleaders are part of a friendly competition, and ask Icon viewers for a vote in their behalf. The competition includes several area cheerleading squads. The highest vote-getter will have its photo on several Trends on Main, Findlay, publicity pieces.The voting ends this weekend. To vote for Ada cheerleaders click here.

Dianna Cole, age 49, died Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at her residence in Sandusky.

          Dianna was born on May 31, 1968 in Lima, Ohio to Gaylord A. and Frances B. (Nichols) Cole who preceded her in death.

          Surviving are two sisters, Gayle (John) Heston of Sandusky and B.J. Cole of Lima; and a nephew, Christopher Heston of Melbourne, FL.   

          She was preceded in death a sister, Grace Cole.

          Graveside services will begin at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 21, at Preston Cemetery, Alger.

And there's still time to register for 2017-18

Ready, Set, Grow Preschool's 2017-18 school year starts on Monday. And, there's still time to register children for the school year.

The preschool offers a 36-week program. Classes are weekday mornings from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Children can attend two, three, four or five days per week.

Parents working or in college may qualify for a free or reduced tuition.

The preschool is housed in First United Methodist Church, 301 N. Main St., Ada. Teachers are Cristal Lyle (LSW) and Carrie Gibson. For more information, call the school at 419-634-0000.

Ohio Northern rolled out the "orange and black" red carpet. In banner form, it flies high above College Avenue as new students move onto campus this weekend.

Tickets for the Sept. 13 event are now available

The Inn at ONU will hold an around the world wine sampling event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 13.

The event allows participants to sample wines before purchasing bottles of wine. Ticket-holders may sample five two-ounces of wine with a selection of appetizers. Eight wines will be available at the event.

Each wine is unique to the Inn and is not available at local groceries. Tickets are $30 per person and are inclusive of tax and service fees.
