Late PK leads Ada girls past Lakers in opener

ADA - The Ada girls soccer team started its season off well with a dramatic 4-3 win over visiting Indian Lake Saturday morning at the park field.
The Lady Bulldogs took an early lead when a cross from Ella Poling was put inside the back post by freshman Timberlyn Blankenship off her body.
Freshman Blankenship got the second goal of the match by knocking in a Katie Butterfield rebound shot that came off the post to provide a 2-0 bulge.
IL edged within 2-1 on a shot from 20 yards out that went just under the crossbar.
Ada rebuilt the lead two goals at intermission when Butterfield found the back of the net off a cross from Blankenship to end the first half on top, 3-1.
IL was able to tie it with a pair of goals int he first 20 minutes of half two.
But Ada regained the lead for good 4-3 late in the match when junior Bella East tallied a penalty kick.
Bulldog keeper McKenzie Long made 12 saves in goal. Ada put 15 shots on goal to five by IL. Blankenship netted two goals in her varsity debut.
