Mercy Health-St. Rita’s neuroscience and trauma symposium Friday and Saturday
Mercy Health-St. Rita’s will hold an inaugural neuroscience and trauma symposium Friday and Saturday, Aug. 3-4, at the Veterans Memorial Civic & Convention Center, Lima.
The conference brings experts from across the region and country to talk about these fields.
The conference will focus on the latest advances in the treatment and management of different types of trauma. The symposium is designed to foster discussion among clinicians involved in neurosciences and trauma care including physicians, nurses, advanced practice providers, physical, speech, and occupational therapists, social work, case managers, emergency medical personnel, and other health care professionals.
Keynote speakers include Kevin Menes, MD, who was involved in the care of the Las Vegas mass casualty shooting last year.
Another keynote speaker is Ian Burkhart, who is a paralyzed trauma patient/survivor sharing his journey. Burkhart was 19 and fearless and horsing around in the surf with friends on vacation in North Carolina’s Outer Banks when he mistimed a dive and a wave drove him headfirst into a sandbar.
Complimentary parking passes will be available for the adjoining parking garage located on West Market Street.
