Assistant swim coach named
Neda Ghoroghi is in her first season an assistant men's and women's swimming and diving coach at Ohio Northern University.
She comes to ONU after serving as an assistant swimming coach at the Miami Shores Aquatics Center in Miami (Fla.).
Ghoroghi has experience in multiple leadership roles including teaching swimming at the college, recreation, and club levels. She taught swimming at Central Michigan University and the University of Central Florida before joining Miami Shores.
She graduated with a master's degree in 2017 from Central Michigan University where she majored in Sport Administration.
Ghoroghi has worked with professional swim coaches from all over the world, including Italy, Germany and Croatia.
She has received many honors and awards. She broke a national record in the 100-meter butterfly stroke at age 16.
Ghoroghi was awarded two gold medals and one bronze medal in the ninth Cultural and Sports Olympiad of Universities and Establishments of Higher Education of the Country in 2008.
She won one gold medal and two bronze medals during the Championships of Universities and Higher Education's Institutes of the Country hosted by Shahrood University in 2009.
In 2009, she was awarded the Presidential Honor Tablet from the President of Alzahra University.
She also earned two gold medals in the first Women's Master Swimming Provincial Championships in 2012.
