It's on Ada's fall calendar
Lots of community events are on the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce fall calendar.
The events include those sponsored by the chamber or by chamber members. The following events were announced at the chamber board meeting on Sept. 5:
• Saturday, Sept. 15 – Harvest and Herb Festival, Main Street
• Saturday, Sept. 29 – Wilson garage sale
• Monday, Oct. 22 – Ada Kiwanis Club Halloween parade and judging
– chamber will provide snacks
• Monday, Nov. 5 – Town and Gown dinner, more details on the way
• Monday, Dec. 3 – Merry on Main. This year’s theme “12 Days of Christmas.” Santa will be at the library, children’s crafts at the depot, business window decorating and other events to be announced
Harvest and Herb updates
As of Sept. 5, 139 vendors were registered for the Harvest and Herb Festival. The board voted to keep vendor registration fees in 2019 the same as this year.
The Harvest and Herb Festival queen competition is underway. The application deadline was today (Sept. 5). Judging takes place at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 9 in McIntosh Center.
Parade entries continue to be accepted. According to Junior Weihrauch, parade director, some of this year’s parade entries include baton corps, Romick Railway, military units, area fire departments, Zenobia Shrine clowns, Ada’s citizen of the year, Zenobia Jeepsters cars, ONU band, Ada HS band, and many decorated floats.
