Line up starts before 8 a.m.
By Monty Siekerman
By 8 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, hundreds of people will be in a line near Wilson Sporting Good Co. factory on East Liberty Street. They are there to get bargains on footballs, basketballs, baseball gloves, golf and tennis items, and equipment for many other sports.
The sale runs from 8 a.m. until noon for parents and grandparents looking for Christmas gifts for kids, for coaches, and for many other reasons. Is the sale worth going to? The hundreds of people who attend will attest to the fact that, “Yes it is.”
Customers who delve into large bins of balls and equipment looking for what they want will leave with large bags of purchases. The sale has been held once a year for many years, so the process is well planned.
