World War I series continues Wednesday
To mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, Dr. Karl Roider is teaching a course at the Ada Public Library. This week’s session, which begins at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, will be about trench warfare. All are welcome to attend.
Dr. Roider is a retired history professor and dean at Louisiana State University. He returned to his hometown of Ada following retirement. He and his sister, Ruth, who owns Gallery for the Arts, graduated from Ada High School. Their father, Karl, served as chair of the ONU music department for many years.
Fifteen people attended the first talk last week about the origins of World War I. After this Wednesday’s talk, Dr. Roider will discuss USA in the war on Sept. 19 and the end of the war on Sept. 26.
