Bulldog boys soccer eliminated by VB

TIFFIN - The Ada boys soccer team had its solid season come to an end in the Div. III district semifinals as they lost to Van Buren 6-1 on a chilly Wednesday evening at Tiffin Frost-Kalnow Stadium.
The seventh-seeded Bulldog boys finish their season 11-7-1 after the defeat. The top seed Black Knights improved to 18-2 with the win.
Ada scored first to take a 1-0 lead. But VB tallied three goals in the final 14 minutes of the first half to seize control. The Black Kights added three more scores after intermisison to win going away.
VB, which has won the last four North Central Ohio Soccer Association titles, now advances to the district finals at Tiffin vs. Elmore Woodmore (14-3) Saturday, Oct. 27.
Woodmore scored four goals in the final 30 minutes to break a tie and beat upstart Pemberville Eastwood 5-1 in the second district semifinal Wednesday night at Tiffin.
Eastwood had upset Mansfield Christian and Mansfield St. Peter's to double its season win total and reach the district semis.
The only VB losses this season came at Riverdale (2-1) October 4, and at home to Archbold (8-0) on August 21. The Knights also shut out Ada 3-0 in Van Buren on September 20 in their NCOSA regular season meeting.
