By Cort Reynolds
PAULDING - The visiting Ada girls soccer team crushed winless Paulding 8-0 behind a pair of hat tricks in a Northwest Conference mismatch Saturday.
The Lady Bulldogs improved to 4-9 overall and 2-4 in the Northwest Conference with the lopsided road win. Paulding dropped to 0-10 and 0-4 in league action with the defeat.
Ada scored seven goals before halftime to put the game well out of reach early.
Bulldog juniors Katie Butterfield and Bella East each netted three goals to post hat tricks before intermission.
Timber Blankenship and Julia Kamatali each added one goal to round out the offensive onslaught. Blankenship and East each dished out one assist.
Ada fired a whopping 37 shots on goal compared to just two by Paulding. Bulldog keeper Ella Poling made two saves in goal during a scoreless first half.
Kamatali shut out the Panthers in goal for the first 20 minutes of half two before the game was halted short of completion due to lightning.
The Bulldogs host Upper Sandusky Tuesday, October 9.
Drawing for sectional play will be held Sunday afternoon. Ada is seeded 10th
