The Ada High School girls softball team was seeded first at the seven-team Div. VI Northwest 3 sectional drawing on Sunday, May 4.

The Bulldog girls (16-3) received a first round bye and will play the winner between seventh seed Perry (0-13) and sixth seed Columbus Grove (3-12) Tuesday, May 20 at 4 p.m. at Bath. Admission cost is eight dollars.

The higher seeds will host the sectionals Tuesday, May 13. The district semifinals are scheduled for Bath May 20, with the district finals also at Bath May 22.

Van Buren (10-6) was seeded second, and Riverdale (10-8) was third.

MAY 4 MEDIA RELEASE__The Independent Women's Flag Football Association will hold its second women's flag football tournament on Saturday May 10 at Dial Roberson Stadium on the Ohio Northern University campus.

IWFFA president Diane Beruldsen reports that 4 teams will play this year, including teams from Key West and Columbus.

There will also be room for Loose Women - those women who wish to play, but do not have a team. If you want to play, contact Beruldsen at [email protected] or call her at (305) 896-8678.

MAY 1 MEDIA RELEASE, KENTON__The 2024-2025 Student Leaders United class will graduate on May 14 at Mid-Ohio Energy. This talented group of high school sophomores from across the county will be recognized for participating in this program. McGUFFEY – The Ada High School track and field teams each finished a strong second at the 10-team Ram Invitational on a wet Thursday, May 1 in McGuffey.

Cory-Rawson nosed out the Ada girls 113.5 points to 110 to win the girls team title. Riverdale came in a fairly close third (98.5).

Pandora-Gilboa captured the boys team crown with 141 points, followed by Ada with 121.5. McComb was a distant third (77.5).

Ada actually posted the most combined girls and boys points in the meet with 221.5. P-G was second with 202 combined points.
