The thermometer outside read "December," despite that Ada High School sports fans took a trip to Bluffton, Hawaii, on Friday night. Ada fans showed up to the Ada vs. Bluffton boys' basketball game in Hawaii garb.  

The American Red Cross North Central Ohio Chapter responded to a fire on Chestnut St. in Forest on Tuesday, Dec. 17.

The Red Cross provided assistance for the immediate needs of two adults and one child affected, such as temporary lodging, food and clothing as well as comfort kits of personal hygiene items. 

“We’re deeply saddened for those who were impacted by this fire,” said Todd James, Executive Director, North Central Ohio Chapter.

“As we continue to help them, we urge everyone to take steps to minimize the risk of a fire occurring in their home.”

She had also served as McGuffey clerk/treasurer

Sandra S. McKinley, 71, died on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2019, at 4:08 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health System. 

She was born in Alger, Ohio, on Jan. 17, 1948, to the late William W. and Mary C. (Orders) Scott, Sr. Sandi was previously married to John McKinley and he preceded her in death.

The next Ada school board meeting will be Thursday, Dec. 19, at 6 p.m. This meeting is open to the public.

Current board members are: Dr. Amy Mullins (president), Matt Gossman, Ronald Fleming, Ernest Daugherty, and Troy Erickson.
